Hi Brittinie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest has afforded me access to highly-rated restaurants that have and continue to enrich my palate with gourmet specialty foods. In the Spring of 2020, the norm of patronizing the hospitality industry came to a reaching halt. As the Pandemic extended into the year, I began to miss the experience of consuming great food that not only satisfied the tastes, but there’s was a cultural lag in representation of chefs that was now manifested in my search for good food.

Cooking With Love Expanding to Brick-and-Mortar in Parkrose

Cooking With Love is expanding its reach to open a new brick-and-mortar location at 3435 NE 128th Ave, confirmed by its owner Brittinie Love.

“I am still looking for a bigger location, and am hoping to be able to work with Cloud Kitchen within the next 6 months, but our opening date is still to be determined,” Love told What Now Portland.

What started as a passion for cooking in her apartment kitchen resulted in starting a successful catering company — and the owner has a whole lotta love to give Portland.

Chef Brittinie Love (a Portland native herself) began sharing her culinary creations through live stream videos before extending her skills into catering events and private brunches + dinners . Her company, Cooking with B. Love , has caught the attention of local establishments, having recently become the first African American caterer for the Portland Art Museum .

Portland chef makes history as PAM’s first Black caterer

Just one important connection led Portland chef Brittinie Love to PAM's Preferred Vendors list

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — One Portland chef just made history as the first Black caterer to be added to the Portland Art Museum’s list of preferred vendors .

On Saturday, Nov. 12, PAM Venues announced Cooking With B. Love as its newest exclusive catering partner. The food business, founded by Portland native Brittinie Love, has soared to new heights since it made its Instagram debut in October 2020.

Love remembers having an appreciation for food even at a young age, when she would spend hours watching the Food Network and “The Emeril Lagassé Show.” But as an adult, she has spent five years of her career working with the Oregon Department of Human Services.

It wasn’t until just a couple of years ago that she went all-in on pursuing her passion for food.

“I think while the pandemic happened, you just start feeling that, ‘What’s what gets me up every day? What gives me that drive? What brings me joy?’” she said. “I think the line of work that I’ve done at DHS is good work, but ultimately I was like, ‘I want to get into something that is going to literally motivate me and make me happy and put a smile on my face.’”

After a long stretch of cooking privately in her apartment, Love decided to share her talents with a larger audience. That is when she began live-streaming online, introducing her followers to simple recipes that they could make at home...
